GUARDIANS: The Unseen Idolatry

GUARDIANS: The Unseen Idolatry

Being a GUARDIANS is a great responsibility. They are individuals who serve, guide, and protect not only themselves but also their organization PGBI. Because of this, it is essential to maintain their integrity and identity through proper conduct and representation. One important aspect of this is to avoid idolizing symbols like the eagle, as well as refraining from mixing unrelated images or logos—such as wings, other logos, or colorful pictures—that are not connected to their purpose.

In many organizational, factions, group particularly some PGBI-claimants’ cultures, the eagle is often used as a symbol of strength, freedom, and bravery. However, it is important to understand that the true value of a GUARDIANS is not based on symbols but on their actions, integrity, and genuine intentions. Excessive admiration or idolization of an animal like the eagle can lead to misconceptions about what it truly means to be a GUARDIANS. It should not be a reason to become arrogant or disconnected from reality. Now, let us observe the many logos being displayed. Are they the real PGBI Logos? Tell me, if you know.

Instead of focusing on idolizing a symbol, it’s better to concentrate on demonstrating qualities such as courage, compassion, and honesty—traits that are not visible in a logo but are reflected in a GUARDIANS’s actions and heart.

The PGBI (Philippine GUARDIANS Brotherhood, Inc.) has its own symbol that contains elements representing its identity and purpose as per PGBI CBL Article 1, Section 5. Incorporating unrelated images, such as wings, eagles, or colorful pictures into or around the logo, can cause confusion and misinterpretation.

A logo is a statement of identity. When it is cluttered with irrelevant images, its simple message is lost, and it becomes confusing. Images of eagles, wings, lions, and rats, and even political figures or other symbols that are unrelated to the core mission of PGBI, can give the public a wrong impression that the organization possesses qualities it does not actually embody. This can also damage the organization’s credibility and professionalism.

As per PGBI Code of Conduct, Article VII, Section 8, Article 152 – Understanding PGBI Code of Conduct: the Philippine GUARDIANS Brotherhood, Inc. (PGBI) emphasizes the values of integrity, discipline, and respect among its members. A key component in maintaining the organization’s dignity and unity is strict adherence to its Code of Conduct, particularly Article 7, Section 8, which underscores the importance of respecting the PGBI’s symbols—its logo, banner, uniforms, and other authorized insignia.

The logo is a way of showing respect and pride for the organization. It is a symbol of identity that should remain clean, simple, and true to the group’s principles and goals. Avoiding irrelevant images or symbols within the logo is a way of demonstrating respect for our own identity.

As GUARDIANS, it is crucial to stay on the right path and not be swayed by false symbols or misleading images. We do not need to idolize animals like eagles or mix unrelated images into our logo. True strength comes from our actions, honesty, and the value we place on our identity as an organization. By maintaining a genuine and proper representation, we can strengthen our mission and commitment as protectors of our community. Stay strong, be honest, and remain true to your identity as a real GUARDIANS. -GSM
