The Role of the National Executive Council (NEC)

Members of the NEC are dedicated leaders committed to serving the organization through active participation, decision-making, and support of its mission. - Service Term and Attendance
NEC members commit to serving a term of one, two, or three years. During this period, they are expected to attend at least 70% of the 12 monthly meetings, participate in an Annual National Conventions, and serve on various committees as needed. - Meeting Participation
Full attendance at all regular and special Council meetings is a responsibility of NEC members, ensuring active involvement in organizational governance. - Committee Service
Members agree to serve on committees throughout their term, contributing their expertise to organizational projects and initiatives. - Support and Engagement
NEC members are expected to actively promote PGBI’s educational programs, mission, and activities, demonstrating genuine interest in advancing the organization’s goals. - Knowledge and Experience
Members should possess knowledge or experience in areas such as leadership, program development, administration, finance, personnel management, industry involvement, media, resource development, and public policy. - Understanding Decision-Making
It is essential for NEC members to understand their role in decision-making regarding personnel, programs, and finances, ensuring responsible governance. - Continuous Learning
Members are encouraged to seek opportunities to enhance their understanding of career and technical Guardians organizations, including PGBI. - Support for Policies and Decisions
NEC members are expected to abide by and support all decisions, policies, and programs approved by the Council. - Decision-Making Protocol
Members should refrain from making independent decisions on matters that require full Council approval and prioritize the mission statement of PGBI. - Promotion and Resources
Active promotion of sponsorships, resources, and member participation is a key role of NEC members to strengthen the organization. - Financial Contributions
Members are expected to donate financially to PGBI annually, as many grants and foundations require full support from NEC members. - Performance Evaluation
An annual performance review of the Executive Council is conducted, and members participate in this evaluation process. - Contract and Representation
The NEC approves the contract of the National Chairman/President and represents PGBI when called upon by the Chairman/President. - Term Limits
