The Council of Elders
The individuals automatically become members of the “Council of Elders” once they are no longer actively serving in their official roles. Specifically:
- All surviving Incorporators (founders or initial members of the organization),
- Past National Chairmen/Presidents,
- Past National Vice Presidents,
- The current Director-General,
- Past and current Deputy-Director Generals,
as long as they are still members of the organization, will automatically join the Council of Elders after their term ends.
The role of the Council of Elders is to serve as advisers to the main governing body, the National Executive Council, as well as to all subordinate chapters of the organization.
The status of the members of the Council of Elders within the broader organizational structure:
- All members of the Council of Elders are considered ex-officio members of the National Executive Council.
- “Ex-officio” means they are members by virtue of their position or office, not through election or appointment specifically to the council.
- However, despite being members, they do not have voting rights on decisions that require the council’s decision. They can advise but cannot participate in voting.
In summary, these sections establish the automatic membership of senior and founding members in the Council of Elders, their advisory role, and clarify their voting rights within the organization’s governance.
