The Wrong Belief in Excessive Markings

In many factions of PGBI organizations, and even social groups, displaying ranks or statuses is often seen as a symbol of success, authority, or respect. However, when the number of marks becomes excessive, it is more often viewed as a sign of ego and a desire to show off rather than genuine leadership. Instead of indicating true qualities of a leader, many marks hide arrogance and the craving to impress through outward displays of power.
True leadership is based on influence, integrity, and the ability to inspire others toward a common goal. A genuine leader values humility, service, and the development of their colleagues. They do not seek to elevate themselves through ostentatious displays but through actions that build trust and respect.
Conversely, obsession with accumulating many ranks or titles can produce the opposite effect. It shows that a person values recognition and outward status more than true leadership qualities. Such behavior can create a false impression of authority, misleading others into believing that the individual is more capable or powerful than they actually are.
Excessive markings often stem from a desire to rise above others, gain attention, or demonstrate dominance. This trait is closely related to arrogance, where a person sees themselves as superior based solely on titles or insignia.
Typically, this kind of self-enhancement is driven by insecurities; the individual seeks recognition through external symbols rather than meaningful contributions or good character. As a result, focus shifts from service to self-interest, leading to injustice in genuine leadership and weakening trust.
Furthermore, these marks may not be outlined in the organization’s constitution and rules. When individuals add marks or insignias that are unofficially recognized or unauthorized, they further demonstrate their desire to elevate their status outside of formal policies and procedures. Such violations of established protocols push self-interest and contradict the integrity of the leadership system.
For PGBI, there is only a simple type of marks, divided into several levels such as the MAGIC Group (MG) and Ranking MAGIC Group (RMG) for civilian sectors. Meanwhile, there is only one Founder, whether from uniformed or non-uniformed sectors, along with the Supreme Godfather (SGF) and the Godfathers. This clear and straightforward structure emphasizes humility and integrity over external symbols of status.
Additionally, sometimes, marks from the very tips of the palms extend to the wrists due to the number of marks, resulting in an exaggerated display of insignia that signifies outward status rather than true achievement. Overall, the bottom line is that we still respect their actions. – GS MEL
